Well, I feel like I’ve been in a huge crafting kick lately and its kinda fun. Now that money has run out and I have a birthday party to plan, I think I’m done, but here’s pics of a few more things I’ve done recently.
Aside from crafting, I’ve been thinking lately about how much I love being a stay at home mom. Maybe because I came back to this blog and realized that its only been a year that I’ve had this blessing in my life, and I was so afraid to do it back then. But, somehow I find things to keep me busy every day, even if its just playing with my Donny-Do. There is just something about that boy that makes me smile. I have the biggest mom-crush on that boy, its ridiculous! He has now lost pretty much ALL the hair around his sides so he has quite the mohawk… I think its so cute.
Shey is learning to push every one of my buttons, but seriously that girl melts my heart, too. I was so worried about balancing both kids, but she has been such a trooper, and LOVES LOVES LOVES her baby brother. It is so great that she wants to be with him and take care of him. I pay her in quarters to babysit him while I take a shower, but she sometimes asks to take care of him just because. And somehow by loving Donovan, it reminds me to be more loving to her, too. I am so proud of her and I hope she continues to be the good girl that she is. She is starting to read more, and we’ve been playing a game the last few days where I write a few sentences and she has to draw a picture of what I write. She’s doing really well sounding out words and she likes to do the game back to me… she does pretty well with her phonetic spellings! They make me laugh. I can’t believe she’s turning five in two weeks! I’m so excited for her birthday party. She was sure to invite me and her dad today. I was so happy about that, since I’m the one doing everything for it. Not sure how exciting it will be, but I hope the kids like it. I’ve still gotta find a craft of some sort for them to do. Nigel didn’t like my first idea of having them each color a square of fabric and I’d quilt them together for Shey. So, we’re headed back to the drawing board, I guess.
So, here’s the pictures of Donovan’s Bumbo cover, his crib bumper, Shey’s cupcake stand, Shey’s birthday invite, and then two of Shey dressed up as a pirate for her friend’s birthday party and then one of my two boys looking so handsome for church today.
