Yesterday was my little brother’s birthday. Though we fought a lot when we were little, Dave has become one of my best friends. I was reading in Nephi the other day, thinking about how his brothers would not follow him because he was younger than they were. I was wondering what my reaction would be if my younger brother called me to repentance. I decided that I would listen. Dave is an amazing man, an amazing husband, an amazing father, an amazing son, an amazing uncle, and an amazing brother. I’m so grateful for him and for the experiences that we have shared through our lives. Some of them not good experiences for sure, but how they have molded us and shaped us into the people we are now… I couldn’t ask for a better brother to share those with. Apparently having to share a room (and my barbies) with you for 10 years paid off in the end!
Now, in case you’re wondering, as I continued to think about Nephi, I thought of his younger brothers, too. I also decided that I would proudly and gladly follow any of my brothers. I am so grateful for a wonderful family that I have been blessed with. I miss them. I miss the days when we would all get together in New Harmony and share fun nights of games and food and laughing. No one makes me happy like my family makes me happy. I am so blessed to have wonderful siblings and wonderful parents.
So, Happy 28th Birthday, Bubby! I love you. And for the rest of the Fontano fam… I pray for you daily, I love you, and I hope you are all doing well wherever you are.
